Renowned for its abundance of wildlife, mountain scenery, indigenous
forests and cascading waterfalls, the Mopani region is one of the
last unspoilt corners of South Africa.
One of the most diverse
regions in terms of both nature and culture, Mopani is a timeless
and unhurried destination offering tourists an unmistakably African
experience.
A natural landmark of the region is the valley that
cradles the Great Olifants River, which winds its way along the
southern border of Limpopo through to the Kruger National
Park.
Main centres of the region include Phalaborwa,
Modjadjiskloof, Tzaneen and Giyani, and each offers fascinating
cultural and ethnic attractions and aweinspiring scenery.
