Hooggelegen Lodge in the Northern Cape is a place of exquisite sunsets, meaningful history, and warm South African hospitality. Apart from its excellent service, one of Hooggelegen?s most notable features is its impressive collection of antiques on display as you enter the lodge. [Use or exclude from cut] This sideboard belonged to the late General Piet Joubert and was hidden in the bushes near his farm house. This bench was locally made, over a century ago. The warm Kalahari singing at the bar, the relaxing peaceful atmosphere, and the friendly staff are just some of the reasons that guests keep coming back to visit. If relaxing is not your forte, then why not enjoy a time of dancing. Or if you prefer, simply sample our variety of local OWK wines. The Restaurant is well known for its traditional South African offerings of Braaivleis, Potjiekos, and bobotie... not to mention the other delicious a la carte items from the kitchen, both the meals and the sumptuous desserts. The Restaurant can accommodate up to 180 people and is ideal to use as a function venue. The more intimate lounge with its big fireplace is perfect for your smaller private meetings, or for simply relaxing in front of the fire. At Hooggelegen Lodge, we have 13 quality non-smoking en-suite bedrooms that vary in size, each one individually and tastefully decorated with a synthesis of antique and contemporary furniture. The crisp white percale cotton bedding assures luxury and comfort during your stay. All the rooms come standard with air conditioning, DSTV, as well as tea and coffee. The good news is that there is also a Laundry Service available to the guests. All of the bedrooms come standard with showers, but if you prefer relaxing in a hot bath, some of the rooms have both bath and shower facilities.
