Useful scavengers of southern Africa - endangered. Vultures are scavengers dependant upon food from natural mortalities, are very susceptible to changes in their environment. Seven species breed in southern Africa Cape Griffon ( Vulture), African white-backed Vulture, Lappetfaced Vulture; Whiteheaded Vulture, Hooded Vulture, Bearded Vulture and Palmnut Vulture, Historically all theses species were linked to Africa diverse ecological tapestry, but as man has developed more and more of the continent, only fragments of these vast ecosystems remain.
